In the international market, Vietnam ranked fifth in total rubber output, unit production is second only to India, and exports ranked fourth. Although Vietnam's rubber products have been sold to 39 countries (China accounts for 60%), there has not been a well-known brand. The reason is that the quality of rubber in Vietnam varies, especially the rubber produced by small factories. On the other hand, through the export of rubber from the small-scale trade of the border, enterprises only weigh in quantity, not quality. VRA experts say: It should increase the domestic supply of raw materials for rubber processing enterprises, according to national and international standards to ensure the quality and packaging, to expand the market for the purpose, should be through formal export trade, maintain trade credit and participation in trade promotion activities.
To promote the healthy development of the rubber industry, the Prime Minister of the Vietnamese government issued a decision on the development plan for the rubber industry by 2015 and the outlook for 2020. According to the target of 2015, Vietnam will have 800,000 hectares of rubber forest and 1.2 million tons of rubber juice.
