IBM developed a high-speed low-power optical receiver

Recently, at the 2017 VLSI Symposium, IBM announced that it has developed the first high-speed, low-power optical receiver with a transmission rate of 60 Gbit / s and a single-channel high-speed non-return to zero (NRZ) receiver Signal, and equipped with 14nm field-effect transistor, with large-capacity digital clock and data recovery.

Alessandro Cevrero, an IBM engineer, said in a small CMOS chip this time that 60Gbit / s reception was twice as fast, reducing transmission costs in half. This breakthrough CMOS photonics technology can be applied to the processor or chip, with 9dB / mw sensitivity power consumption, ideal for high bandwidth connections, high throughput requirements of cloud computing, data center applications.

In the optical fiber communication system transmission process, the received signal is generally weak, the receiver should theoretically amplify the signal without destroying the information, and in actual operation, leakage, error often exist. This optical receiver reached a BER of 10-12 during the test, which means that when transmitting 1012 bits of information, only one may be incorrect. Optical receiver does not affect the quality of the normal transmission of information at the same time reduce the power consumption, so that information transmission has been protected.

In addition, matched optical transmitters are expected to be available next year. Optical transmitter and receiver two devices will form a complementary, composed of a complete CMOS receiver. In future transmission systems, all transmissions over 1 meter in length, electrical signals are converted to optical signals to carry more information, to increase the efficiency of energy applications and to provide greater bandwidth. CMOS receiver system low-power performance than the standard copper interconnect more market value.

Cevrero also said that it is currently developing an optical transmitter specifically designed for transmission rates above 70 Gbit / s and is already in production and is expected to begin measuring in the fourth quarter of this year.

Railway Sound Barrier

A noise barrier (also called a soundwall, sound berm, Sound Barrier, or acoustical barrier) is an exterior structure designed to protect inhabitants of sensitive land use areas from noise pollution. Noise barriers are the most effective method of mitigating roadway, railway, and industrial noise sources – other than cessation of the source activity or use of source controls.

Features
1, Soundproof function: sound insulation STC≥30-35
2, Noise absorption function: Using advanced centrifugal glass wool, Average noise reduction coefficient NRC≥0.95
3, Solid and steady: Using aluminum and steel post, wind resistance 1500N/m2
4, Anti-aging and anti-corrosion
