On June 2, local time, Chinese Minister of Transport Li Xiaopeng held talks with the German Federal Minister of Transport and Digital Infrastructure Alexander Dobrint in Berlin. The two sides positively evaluated the existing cooperation in the transportation field of the two countries and agreed to continue to deepen the pragmatic cooperation between China and Germany in transportation. Li Xiaopeng said that for a long time, the two sides have carried out high-level, multi-level and fruitful pragmatic cooperation in the field of transportation. The cooperation between the two countries in the areas of inland navigation and green logistics is the highlight of the pragmatic cooperation between the two sides. He proposed three aspects of cooperation proposals: First, strengthen Sino-German strategic cooperation in transportation and fuel. It is recommended that the working level of both sides should hold close consultations, agree on relevant cooperation agreements and carry out pragmatic project cooperation as soon as possible; second, continue to promote Sino-German green logistics cooperation. The 6th Green Logistics Conference of Germany draws on Germany's advanced experience in the field of logistics, combines China's national conditions, and promotes China's logistics to reduce costs and increase efficiency. Third, in the development of Sino-German transportation cooperation, it is recommended that the two sides use existing bilateral and China-EU multilateral cooperation. The mechanism strengthens communication and hopes that Sino-German enterprises and research institutions will promote cooperation in the principle of “co-industry, joint construction, and sharing†to achieve mutual benefit and win-win results.
Dobrint said that green logistics cooperation is a successful example of pragmatic cooperation between the two sides. He introduced the German vision of carrying out transportation and fuel cooperation, applying digital technology to support logistics development, and improving the intelligence of ports and inland navigation. He expressed appreciation for China's cooperation proposal and hoped to actively participate in project cooperation based on the principle of “openness, fairness, transparency and mutual benefitâ€. Dobrint also expressed strong interest in the implementation of the Yangtze River Economic Belt development strategy and the construction of a high-level comprehensive three-dimensional traffic corridor. During his visit to Germany, Li Xiaopeng also conducted a field survey of the BMW Group's new energy vehicle production plant, the German Transportation and Social Change Innovation Center, and detailed understanding of the new concepts and practices of new energy vehicles such as German new energy vehicle development and shared vehicles, as well as innovative transportation development.
