To make breakthroughs in too heavy nuclear power new energy equipment

The reporter learned from Taizhong Heavy Industry Group on November 22 that the world’s first high-temperature gas-cooled reactor nuclear power plant, the world’s first high-temperature gas-cooled reactor nuclear power plant, has completed the acceptance test of its spent fuel storage vehicle and shield complete sets of equipment. Its successful development marks a key step for Taizhong Group in the field of nuclear power and new energy equipment manufacturing, and has played an important role in the localization of key nuclear power equipment.

High-temperature gas-cooled reactor is an advanced nuclear reactor type with the fourth generation of nuclear energy system security features in China. The equipment that is too heavy to produce is the key equipment for the world's first modular high-temperature gas-cooled reactor nuclear power plant demonstration project - Shandong Rongcheng Shidao Bay Nuclear Power Station, with a total weight of 330 tons, mainly used for radioactive spent fuel tanks Shielding and transfer, with comprehensive shielding, accurate positioning, safe and reliable, high degree of automation.

This set of equipment is a major achievement in the collaborative innovation of advanced nuclear energy technologies. The cooperation between Taizhong Group and Tsinghua Nuclear Research Institute lasted nearly 4 years. During the scientific research and manufacturing process, Taizhong Group set up a project team headed by the general manager. The scientific and technical personnel carried out a large number of innovative designs and solved many major technical issues, such as the overall design of the equipment and the Automatic precise positioning, development of spent fuel tanks and automatic spreader covers.

In October this year, the equipment was successfully assembled and commissioned at the ground car testing ground. According to the plan, at the beginning of 2015, Shandong Rongcheng Shidao Bay Nuclear Power Station will install the equipment and become the first large-scale equipment installed at the nuclear power plant.
