The device for obtaining moisture in the desert air has been field tested

Some parts of the world do not have access to clean drinking water, and they may also live in places experiencing drought. However, it seems that MIT researchers may have solved this problem because they have tested on-site a device that can draw moisture from the desert air.


This is not necessarily a new concept, it was actually put forward in 2017, but now it seems that researchers have conducted field tests of their concepts in the dry air of Arizona and have already proven effective. However, this is only the beginning, because researchers say that there is still a lot of work to be done to expand this process.
The concept of drawing moisture from the moisture in the air is not new and has been explored by others in the past, but according to the researchers, this usually depends on whether there is enough humidity to draw water. However, the system is based on a new high-surface-area material called Metal Organic Framework, which extracts drinking water containing only 10% humidity from dry desert air.
