An intelligent traffic signal control device that can determine the length of traffic lights according to the number of vehicles in each lane - "traffic signal recognition controller" system (intelligent traffic lights), jointly by Baoji Public Security Bureau, Shaanxi Provincial Public Security Research Institute and Xi'an Jiaotong University Successfully developed.

This invention has recently passed the appraisal of scientific and technological achievements of the Ministry of Public Security. The expert review team unanimously believes that this scientific research achievement is not only the first in China, but also the technology has reached the international leading level and has a very high promotion value. At present, the “Traffic Signal Identification Control Instrument” system has been installed and used at the South Crossing of Shengli Bridge in Baoji City.

The chief inventor of scientific research, the chief engineer of the Baoji City Traffic Police Detachment, said that the newly developed system can determine the length of the green light release time according to the number of cars in each lane of each intersection, and change the number of vehicles before the intersection, no matter how many cars there are. No car, traffic lights are fixed at all times.

This research result has been included in the national promotion project by the Ministry of Public Security.
