The self-grinding machine is also called a medium-free grinding machine. Its characteristic is to achieve the purpose by using the broken material itself as a medium. The self-grinding machine does not need to add steel balls (in addition to a small number of steel balls in special cases), its grinding ratio is very large, which greatly simplifies the crushing and grinding process. The pulverization of the ore depends on the impact force when the ore is free to fall and the mutual abrasion between the particles and the instantaneous stress of the ore from the pressure state to the tension state, so that excessive pulverization can be avoided.

Under the condition that the specification and speed of the self-grinding mill are fixed, the feeding amount of the material and the ratio of the size of the ore block directly affect the grinding process, and attention should be paid in production. The production practice proves that the material filling rate is between 30-40. If the ore control is not good, the level of the material in the self-grinding machine will fluctuate, which may cause the phenomenon of “flatness” (high level of material) or “empty belly” (low level of material). Therefore, it is required to maintain a stable ratio of the amount of ore to be produced in the production and the ratio of the ore to the ore, and it is required to be stable at the same time. If only the quantity is stable, but the particle size ratio is improper, the production will be abnormal. The particle size ratio is mainly that the large ore should not be less. If the large ore is insufficient under special circumstances, a large steel ball can be added in a small amount. The proportion of large ore is not good, but the production effect is not ideal. It should be determined by experiments and production practices according to the nature of the ore.
