Cummins Inc. announced that it plans to invest US$24 million in the next three years to expand its technology center in North Charleston, South Carolina, to improve the technology center’s capabilities in R&D.
The technology center will be able to run various engines and test various fuels. Cummins plans to immediately recruit 31 mechanical engineers, technicians, and electronics engineers to recruit more employees in the near future.
Jim Trueblood, vice president of engine power engineering, said that the expansion of the South Carolina Technology Center will enable the technology center to conduct tests on diesel engines, pipelined natural gas, and non-standard gas engines, and to promote Cummins’ technological innovation in the automotive industry.
