In view of the above reasons, and the drastic reduction in computer prices, more distributed control systems are currently used. The tasks of each computer in this type of system are clear, the workload is relatively balanced, and it is easy to control the test signals of various stations to be sent to the workstation computer, which improves the reliability of the system.

In some unexpected situations, the operator can manually operate the workstation. Therefore, the distributed measurement and control system is obviously superior to the centralized control system in terms of application scope, scalability, maintainability, and single-point failure.
